Marilyn Lacy Ministries knows the importance of healing for the women and teen girls we minister to. We stand by our commitment to survivors but most importantly, through the actions of our initiatives we walk alongside survivors in their journey toward healing. Our Non-Profit realized that we could overcome our challenges much more efficiently and effectively by teaching survivors to apply biblical principles in their daily lives, ultimately learning how to thrive after surviving. Founder Marilyn Lacy is a survivor of sexual abuse, rape, and domestic violence. She is an accomplished Author and Facilitator for the Tamar Ministry at First Baptist Church of Glenarden. She recognized the need to reach beyond the walls of the church and began outreach in the DMV area over 2 years ago. With the outpouring of women and teen girls who has survived sexual abuse reaching out to her for help, Marilyn Lacy Ministries was launched.
Marilyn Lacy Ministries is in the business of changing and shaping lives. The work we do at our Non-Profit is aimed at providing a holistic approach to solving some of our society’s biggest challenges. We make sure survivors are empowered by creating opportunities for individuals to heal from trauma, get the life skills they need to live enriched lives and if they are currently living in homeless shelters, transition to living on their own and able to maintain their housing permanently.
With our organization’s mission always in mind, we strive to find new strategies for dealing with this challenge. Homeless Outreach is something that we take very seriously, and our team is working each and every day to make a positive impact. The #takecare Inititive has allowed us to minister to those often forgotten about who live on the streets in the DMV area.
